Replace Sidekick LX Button Panels
This is a guide for changing out the buttons and button panels on a sidekick LX. These instructions are for the front buttons near the trackball and the speaker


I have not been able to find the individual buttons but you can buy a kit that also has a lcd lens frame. Sidekick LX Buttons
You will need a T6 torx driver for the screws. If you do not have one, a small flat tip screwdriver inserted into the groove can be used.
1. Power down unit.
2. Remove back cover and take out battery.
3. Remove the four T6 screws on the bottom of the Sidekick LX for the trackball side. See picture of Sidekick LX below.

4. Flip the Sidekick LX back over and remove the side piece that has the buttons. See picture below.
5. While you have it apart, go ahead and clean this area out using a q-tip and some IPA alcohol.
6. Install new button panel back on the sidekick lx.
7. Flip the Sidekick back over and install the 4 screws on the bottom that you removed in step 3.
Now we will replace the side panel buttons on the speakers side.
8. Make sure the battery is removed and the back panel is off.
9. Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the sidekick LX for the button panel on the speaker side. See picture below screw locations. Once again these are T6 screws.

10. Turn the Sidekick over and removed the button panel near the speaker. See picture below.

11. While you have it apart, go ahead and clean this area out using a q-tip and some IPA alcohol.
12. Install new button panel back on the sidekick lx.
13. Flip the Sidekick back over and install the 4 screws on the bottom that you removed in step 9.
14. Check to make sure all the screws are back in place and the cover seem to fit ok.
15. Install the battery back into the sidekick LX and putback cover on.
16. Power up and test out the functionality. Reseat as necessary.
17. Enjoy the fully functioning Sidekick LX with all of its buttons.
